DGW signs MoU with Heriot-Watt University Dubai to enhance cooperation in fields of education, training and research
Dubai, United Arab Emirates, 7 August 2022 – The Dubai Government Workshop (DGW) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Heriot-Watt University Dubai to enhance their efficient and productive collaboration.
The MoU calls for collaboration in a broad variety of areas – including academic education, executive development programs, practical training for students, joint seminars, workshops, and conferences, conducting studies on future foresight, smart research in the field of electric and hybrid vehicles, advanced technologies of autonomous cars, recent innovations associated with vehicles, and modern maintenance technologies.
H.E. Fahad Ahmed Alraeesi, CEO of DGW, stated that this agreement is an integral part of the DGW’s efforts to broaden its collaboration with prominent academic institutions to share insights and experiences and to make best use of the capabilities available to both parties, in a variety of sectors. “It also equips students and academics with requisite skills and practical experience they need to improve the UAE labour market and the country’s economy.
Dubai Government Workshop is eager to improve its relationships with other organisations, particularly academic institutions, to broaden collaborative work in crucial fields – including education, training, development, and research. In light of the UAE’s advanced transformation process, which necessitates highly qualified competencies in modern technologies, the agreement with Heriot-Watt University Dubai reflects our efforts to meet the requirements of the UAE labour market, providing it with expertise capable of advancing the nation’s economy and expanding job opportunities for future generations,” he added.
Alraeesi emphasised that by providing academic training, executive development, and practical training for staffs and students to equip them with the highest functional and technological skills to foster creativity and innovation, the partnership with Heriot-Watt University Dubai will promote optimal investments in human element and provide it with the capabilities required to drive holistic growth. Graduates will be able to apply their newfound skills from training to achieve leadership and excellence in various fields.
