DUBAI’S ICONIC LANDMARKS LIGHT UP IN GREEN TO CELEBRATE SAUDI NATIONAL DAY
Dubai, United Arab Emirates, 26 September 2022: To commemorate Saudi Arabia’s 92nd National Day on 23 September and to celebrate the close ties between the UAE and Saudi Arabia, Dubai’s iconic landmarks – Burj Al Arab, Dubai Frame, Ain Dubai and Museum of the Future – were lit up in green, the colour of Saudi Arabia’s national flag this weekend. The excitement was further heightened with spectacular firework displays at The Beach and Bluewaters and the striking IMAGINE fountain show at Dubai Festival City Mall.
Thousands of music fans flocked to a special celebratory concert with top Arabic music stars Assala Nasri, Fouad Abdelwahed and Aseel Hameem on 24 September at the Coca Cola Arena, and fitness enthusiasts marked the occasion with a sprint under the stars at the Saudi National Day Run at The Track Meydan Golf. Saudi visitors also received a special welcome at Dubai Airport with dedicated messages, gifts and green passenger baggage tags.
Citywide festivities for Saudi National Day for residents and visitors were organised and presented by Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment (DFRE). Shoppers could take advantage of unmissable shopping deals and gastronomy offers at City Walk, La Mer, The Beach, Bluewaters and Outlet Village. With exciting live and roaming entertainment, incredible hotel offers and a variety of promotions at the city’s main attractions such as Dubai Parks & Resorts, Dubai Dolphinarium and Aventura Parks, the emirate was the place to be for a host of phenomenal celebrations.
Every year, Saudi National Day is celebrated on 23 September to commemorate the 1932 decree issued by King Abdulaziz Al Saud renaming the Kingdom of Nejd and Hejaz to Saudi Arabia. Check out Visit Dubai for more information and @CelebrateDubai and @StyledbyDubai on social media channels.
