EWINGS joins The Digital School’s “Donate Your Own Device” campaign, in commitment to education and environment.
United Arab Emirates, Dubai, September 2023
EWINGS is excited to announce its contribution to The Digital School’s Donate Your Own Device (DYOD) campaign by The Digital School, one of Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives.
As part of this campaign, EWINGS invited its associates and partners to donate their used electronic devices in an effort to further education while reducing e-waste, promoting sustainability as well as reusability of perfectly functioning digital devices.
As part of the campaign, EWINGS will be donating 150 telephone sets, 15 keyboards and a number of other electronics including routers, headphones and tablets.
Suzan Kazzi, Head of Corporate Social Responsibility and Communications at EWINGS said: “Our involvement in this campaign is a testament to EWINGS’ continued commitment to education and the environment. Our partnership with several academic institutions and foundations that facilitate educational support to their members in the past, reflects this commitment. Joining DYOD, gives us an added opportunity to promote sustainability and a sense of shared responsibility towards more eco-conscious behaviours.”
She continued: “This also comes in continuation to our longstanding support for the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives, as we have contributed to Al Jalila Foundation’s noble cause, sponsoring treatments for patients in need”.
The campaign aims to collect 10,000 used electronic devices from both individuals and institutions. These devices will undergo refurbishment and recycling to provide underprivileged students worldwide with improved access to education through digital means. The campaign is in line with the visionary leadership of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, who recognizes the vital role of digital education solutions in shaping the future of the education sector. By gathering used devices from donors who share a passion for this cause, the campaign aims to empower the students at The Digital School by ensuring their access to education, particularly those facing barriers to acquiring electronic devices.
