Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, July 22, 2024
Jannah Hotels & Resorts is making significant strides in its commitment to sustainability. Under the leadership of Mr. Ossama Charrouf, Corporate Director of Commercial and Development, Jannah Hotels & Resorts has embraced a diverse array of eco-friendly practices and innovative technologies that not only reduce environmental footprint but also enhance guest satisfaction.
Jannah Hotels & Resorts has implemented several eco-friendly practices integrated into daily operations. “We focus on reducing room temperatures, minimizing water and electricity consumption, and promoting digital solutions,” stated Mr. Charrouf.
Technology plays a vital role in Jannah Hotels’ sustainability efforts. Mr. Charrouf said, “Our properties utilize digital solutions to reduce paper usage, such as express check-ins and virtual registration cards. Additionally, we utilize solar panels to support up to 20% of energy needs in some of our hotels.” In addition to these efforts, Jannah Hotels has introduced organic menu sections and shifted entirely to digital menus, a practice initiated during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Employees at Jannah Hotels & Resorts are actively engaged in supporting eco-friendly practices. “We involve our staff in recycling programs, energy conservation efforts, and innovative initiatives,” explained Mr. Charrouf. “These small actions make a significant contribution to our overall sustainability goals,” he added.
To elevate these efforts, Jannah Hotels & Resorts also collaborates with partners to offer training programs that enhance staff awareness and engagement in eco-friendly practices. “Our sustainability committee, led by dedicated team members, participates in various initiatives across the Emirates, including beach clean-ups and cycling activities,” Mr. Charrouf shared.
Guests are also encouraged to participate in sustainability efforts through clear guidelines provided in their rooms on conserving water and energy. “We have observed that guests increasingly prefer eco-friendly hotels, and our practices enhance their overall experience,” said Mr. Charrouf.
Additionally, Jannah Hotels & Resorts partners with both global and local organizations to advance its sustainability goals. Notable collaborations include working with Tree Nation, which allows guests to contribute to global reforestation efforts. The resort also actively supports initiatives led by tourism boards and municipalities in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, and Ras Al Khaimah.
Jannah Hotels & Resorts is pursuing green certification for all its properties and is committed to further innovations. The resort is investing to expand further their solar panel installations, and exploring innovative projects like keyless check-ins and water dispensers for guests. “We are committed to making a significant impact through our sustainable practices and continuing to lead the way in eco-friendly hospitality for a brighter and greener future for all,” Mr. Charrouf concludes.
