“Salon Du Chocolat’s Fashion Show.. Where Couture Meets Confectionery in a Chocolate Fantasy”
Prepare for an unforgettable experience at Salon du Chocolat et de la Pâtisserie Dubai 2024, where chocolate and couture take centre-stage on the catwalk.
From September 18-20, 2024, the exclusive Madinat Jumeirah will be transformed into a world of chocolate, welcoming 7,000 visitors to witness an unparalleled celebration of flavour and fashion.
This year’s Chocolate Fashion Show is set to be the pinnacle of the event, where haute couture meets culinary artistry in a spectacular way. The theme “Wild & Wonderful Glamor” will be translated into 13 extraordinary chocolate dresses, celebrating a stunning collaboration between top pastry chefs and emerging fashion talents from ESMOD Dubai. Each dress is a masterpiece, combining intricate chocolate craftsmanship with avant-garde fashion design.
Among the highlights is the Petal Dress, created by Chef Pierre Abi Hayla of Le Noir and designer Layla Sanudo. This breathtaking piece, crafted with pure chocolate and adorned with vibrant florals captures the elegance of blooming petals with a touch of whimsy. Chef Benoit Dutreige from Rikas Group and designer Tugali Jarrouj also push the envelope with a modern, innovative design that melds traditional chocolate artistry with contemporary fashion.
Chef Bernard Charles of Bateel International LLC and Yasaman Tarazi present a whimsical Alice on the Pink Carpet dress, bringing the fantastical world of Alice and Wonderland to life in rich chocolate. Meanwhile, chef Edmond Roukoz Bano of Puratos and designer Leila Litime offer a romantic cherry blossom-themed creation, adorned with chocolate, evoking the delicate and ethereal beauty of cherry blossom.
“Each creation in this year’s Chocolate Fashion Show is a testament to the synergy between culinary expertise and high fashion, promising an enchanting display of glamor,'” said Joumana Damous-Salamé, managing director of HSME, the organizer of the event.
“The Chocolate Fashion Show is a unique event that perfectly aligns with ESMOD Dubai’s mission to merge creativity and innovation in fashion education. By showcasing our students’ designs crafted with inspiration from the rich and diverse world of chocolate, we aim to celebrate not only the art of fashion but also the artistry of confectionery. We look forward to a delightful fusion of style and sweetness that will undoubtedly captivate and inspire,” added Tamara Hostal, founder of ESMOD Dubai.
But the celebration doesn’t end on the runway. Indeed, Salon du Chocolat et de la Pâtisserie Dubai also features an array of exciting elements, including The Talks—insightful sessions with industry leaders on the latest trends in pastry, chocolate and coffee—and the Coffee in Good Spirits Championship, shining a bright light on budding baristas and mixologists. With 43 competitions, such as the Best 3D Cake Design to the KITKAT Dessert Challenge, and countless masterclasses, the event is a haven for culinary excellence, creativity and artisanship.
Marking its third edition this year, the event will bring together 360 brands from around the world, represented by 120 exhibitors. Furthermore, Guillaume Gomez, personal representative of the President of the French Republic for food and gastronomy, is the guest of honor.
Since its debut in Paris nearly 30 years ago, Salon du Chocolat has become a global reference for chocolate and pastry professionals and enthusiasts, expanding to major cities like New York, Tokyo and London. The Dubai edition promises to continue this prestigious legacy with an unparalleled celebration of flavor and fashion.
