The opening weekend of Dubai Summer Surprises (DSS) brought excitement and celebration to the city, as the 26th edition of the beloved summer festival kicked off in style, coinciding with momentous Eid Al Adha festivities. With amazing memories being made all over the city, the opening weekend of DSS – presented by Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment (DFRE) – marked the start to a joyous summer season filled with enjoyment for all.
The city played host to some magical musical moments, as illustrious artists Hussain Al Jassmi and Kadim Al Sahir delighted thousands of fans with incredible performances at the Coca-Cola Arena on 1 July. And the excitement didn’t stop there, as Saudi singer and icon Mohammad Abdo, known as the “Artist of the Arabs,” made his return to the city at the same venue on 2 July and delivered an unforgettable evening, putting on a show that left crowds awestruck.
Modesh World opened its doors on 26 June, welcoming many parents and children to come and begin their summer adventures with Modesh and Dana. With so many delightful treats, thrilling rides, and activities for the whole family, this family centric attraction has already brought much joy to the city, and will continue to remain open at the Dubai World Trade Centre halls 3-8, until 27 August.
On 29 and 30 June, crowds of shoppers made the most of the opening weekend – with retail deals, exclusive 12 Hour Sale chances to win, and celebrations at Ibn Battuta Mall and City Centre Mirdif, featuring performing artists and live entertainment, incredible musicians, captivating dance performances and more.
At Dubai Parks and Resorts and at Festival City Mall, spectacular firework displays lit up the sky in celebration of Eid Al Adha – with residents and tourists alike enjoying the colourful pyrotechnics.
